Curriculum Support & Consulting

Expert learning & curriculum

Curriculum Revisions
Curriculum revisions can be offered in a variety of ways.  The consultant can work with existing curricula to make sure it aligns to state standards or the Common Core Standards.  Curricula can also be aligned to include diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).  Once again, curricula might be modified to be more culturally responsive.  In this way, content, culture, and community are explored to strengthen lessons.  Math lessons and SEI lessons for English Language Learners can be revised and/or modified.

Should I offer this as part of my staff professional development plan (PDP)?

If your school or district is about to undertake curriculum revisions, an outside perspective from a consultant can be most helpful.  Consultants bring a different lens to looking at curricula, which can strengthen academic performance and achievement.

Curriculum Writing

Similar to curriculum revisions, the consultant can help with curriculum writing, whether your school or district is designing a completely new math program or has purchased new materials. We can work with grade level supervisors, groups of teachers, the Director of Curriculum for the district, or content-area coaches.  As with curriculum revisions, the writing will include best-practices, a lens on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and a focus on cultural responsiveness.
